I often think about how different childhood feels for my kids compared to my own. Growing up, our neighborhood was a real village—grandparents next door, cousins down the street, and neighbors who watched out for everyone’s kids. Now, our family lives miles away from relatives, and most of our connections are online. Sometimes, I worry that my children are missing out on that sense of belonging and community. I try to recreate it through playdates and community events, but it’s not quite the same. Has anyone else felt the loss of the village? How do you build your own support system?
