When the Spice Cabinet Looks Back at You

Chicken tikka masala used to be my go-to, but these days, I’m not even pretending to chase that full-on restaurant flavor. I’ve swapped out the heavy cream for Greek yogurt, dialed back the chili, and honestly, sometimes I just use whatever blend of spices I can find in the pantry. My family, raised here, doesn’t miss the heat or the layers of flavor that I grew up with. I get it. My body doesn’t handle it the same way anymore either.
