Why Does Hard Work Only Get Me a Pat on the Back? 🤔

Every year, after my performance review, I walk out feeling like I’ve been running on a treadmill—lots of effort, but going nowhere. I pour my heart into my job, stay late, and take on extra projects, but when it’s time to talk raises, it’s always the same story: a standard bump, nothing more. I thought maybe it was just my last company, but now I’m on my third job in five years, and it’s the same everywhere. I start out fired up, ready to prove myself, but the reality hits—no matter how much I do, my paycheck barely moves. Is jumping jobs every year and a half really the only way to get ahead?
