The Photos Look Better Than I Felt

I posted those Yunnan shots because the light was perfect and the mountains looked endless. What I didn’t show: how tired I was of being the outsider, how I kept searching for WiFi just to hear from someone who knew me before I left. I wandered through markets, camera in hand, pretending to be fascinated by things I didn’t understand. Every photo was a small lie—a version of myself that looked braver, more curious, less lost.
