FU Money Isn’t Enough: My Unexpected Work Struggles

I always believed that once I hit my FU money goal, work stress would magically disappear. My partner and I moved from the UK to the US, both chasing that elusive financial independence dream. We set our sights on $1 million by 30, thinking it would give us the freedom to coast at work and ignore office politics. Well, we crushed that goal and then some. But last week, I still found myself in tears after a pointless escalation blew up in my face. Turns out, my anxiety and reactions to corporate nonsense didn’t vanish with my bank balance.
