Blending families was supposed to be a fresh start, but honestly, it feels like Iām living in a whirlwind. My partner and I each brought a child into our new placeāmy 12-year-old daughter and his 17-year-old son. Every other weekend, his son arrives, and suddenly, our calm home turns into chaos. His son barely lifts a finger, and if he wants something, my partner just hands it over. But when my daughter slips up, itās a huge dealālectures, punishments, the works. Tell your husband āwe have to talk. I see that when stepson 17 gets here, he gets everything handed to him and he gets no discipline or chores, yet 12 gets blasted and grilled. You need to either step up and make SS do chores & discipline him or back off 12. Iām not going to tell you again. If they arenāt treated equally within a month, youāre going to be living elsewhere.ā

that seems to be what really happens it did in my family and believe me hated the stepsisters and the wicked stepmother. didn't shed 1 tear when she died or the so called father

then why are you still there? if you haven't brought up these obvious disparities then that's mistake number one. if your daughter has blatantly noticed them why don't you give him the classic "you raise your child and I'll raise mine" line if it's all like that? from your limited information it sounds like you don't do any disciplining your own self.
