Hey, autumn happens here too! When I saw this sentence, I felt both angry and funny. The famous California has to bow down to the eastern part when it comes to the season of fall foliage. But even though we don't have the same abundance of colorful leaves as the East Coast, we have mountains, snowy peaks, and beautiful lakes along Highway 395! Let me recommend some spots to check out and appreciate the autumn scenery. Hurry up and plan your weekend getaway! 🍁 Hope Valley Red Barn: Located near Hope Valley, I recommend using a telephoto lens to capture the iconic red barn with the mountain backdrop. It gives off that classic autumn vibe! 🍁 Conway Summit: Make sure to pull over on the side of the road here, you don't want to miss the chance to capture the snowy mountains in the background. This is where we outshine the East Coast! 🐕 🍁 Lobdell Lake Rd: Make sure to have a high clearance four-wheel-drive car!! You can capture the beauty of the golden aspen trees lining the road. 🍁 Mono Lake: You won't find fall foliage here, but the salt lake with its mirror-like surface is a photographer's dream. Who's up for some drone shots? 😭 🍁 June Lake Loop: Last week might not have been the peak, but this week should be close. Also, I recommend a small lake called Gull Lake, where you can capture fishermen on boats as a foreground. 🍁 Sabrina Lake: It's confirmed, the foliage is at its peak here! The view by the lake might be average, but there are plenty of photography spots along the way. I suggest parking your car at the nearby campground and take a walk. 🐕 You'll definitely find something rewarding. 🍁 South Lake: I believe this is the most stunning place with the most vibrant fall colors.
