Leaves Near Brontë Creek: I Wasn’t Present

I took a photo of the leaves by Brontë Creek because everyone says Ontario’s autumn is a must-see. The colors were perfect, filtered sunlight on red and gold. But the whole time, I was thinking about work emails and the drive back. I kept waiting for that rush—some spark that would make the trip feel worth it. It never came. I scrolled through my camera roll later and realized I barely remembered being there. I’d been chasing the idea of a moment, not the moment itself. Sometimes travel is just another way to distract yourself from what you’re really feeling. Sometimes, you come home emptier than you left. #TravelConfessions #PostTripReality #NatureUnfiltered #Travel
