My Daughter Gets Kicked Out of Her Room for Gran! 😱

Every year, when my mom comes to stay with us over the holidays, my daughter, who’s 13, gets bumped out of her own room. She ends up sleeping downstairs on a blow-up mattress in the office, while my son, who’s 11, gets to stay comfy in his own bed. Gran can’t handle the air mattress, so my daughter is the one who has to sacrifice. At first, it seemed like a small thing, but now my daughter is getting really frustrated. She says the mattress is uncomfortable, and being downstairs makes her feel unsafe, especially if there’s ever a break-in. I get where she’s coming from, and I’m starting to worry that these little things are adding up and making her want to move in with me instead.
