The Mountains Didn’t Make Me Whole

Everyone posts the Rockies like they’re a cure. I thought maybe they’d fix me too. But standing on a ridge, boots soaked, hands numb, all I felt was the ache in my legs and the weight I’d carried from home. The silence was huge, but it didn’t fill me. There’s a photo on my phone—me, grinning in front of a glacier. I never posted it. I remember how hard it was to breathe, not just from the altitude. I wanted the view to change something inside me. It didn’t. Sometimes you travel thousands of miles and still end up alone with yourself. That’s the real summit. #SoloTravelTruth #PostTripReality #HikingConfessions #Travel
