The Village Was Quiet. I Wasn’t

Saksun looks like a screensaver: grass roofs, a lagoon, cliffs that close in like a secret. I went in 2019, thinking I’d find something I’d lost. Instead, I stood there, wind in my face, and realized I’d brought all my noise with me. No one tells you how loud your own thoughts get when there’s nothing else around. I kept waiting for awe, for peace, for some cinematic feeling. But mostly, I felt exposed—like the landscape could see right through me. The photos I took are beautiful. I never posted them. They felt like someone else’s life. #TravelConfessions #FaroeIslands #UnfilteredJourneys #Travel
