The Trail Was Quiet. My Mind Wasn’t.

Lena Lake looks like a screensaver, but the hike up is where everything unravels. I thought the trees would swallow my stress, that the silence would settle something inside me. Instead, every step was a replay of old arguments and half-finished texts. I passed families laughing, couples posing for selfies, and felt like a ghost in hiking boots. At the top, the lake was glassy and perfect, but I couldn’t shake the feeling that I’d carried all my noise with me. Sometimes you go somewhere wild hoping to lose yourself, but all you find is how loud your head can get when there’s nothing else around. #HikingAlone # #TravelConfessions # #OlympicPeninsula #Travel
