Why Do People Abandon Pets Like This?

So, I opened my door this morning and found a terrified cat hiding under my car. No collar, no microchip, just a pair of wide, confused eyes staring back at me. I can’t wrap my head around it—how do people just leave their pets behind like they’re yesterday’s trash? I get that life can be hard, but there are shelters, rescues, literally anything better than dumping a living creature outside. Now I’m scrambling to find food, a safe spot, and maybe a forever home for this little guy. Honestly, it’s heartbreaking and infuriating at the same time.
