FIRE Dream Turned Into a Workplace Nightmare—Help Needed! 😩

Hey everyone, I’m Emily, 28, and I need to get something off my chest. I’ve been working as a biological consultant in Chicago for a couple of years, all while chasing the FIRE dream. My job isn’t bad—my coworkers are awesome, my boss is fair, and the work actually helps people. But lately, I just can’t shake this feeling of being totally unmotivated and checked out. I went into this job thinking it was just a stepping stone to early retirement, and now I’m stuck in a rut. I’m either working more and feeling miserable, or working less and dragging this out forever. My friends have noticed I’m not myself, and honestly, I’m worried too. Has anyone else felt like this?
