Salmonella linked to cucumbers is still spreading—now 21 states are involved and the patient count keeps rising, even after the CDC said the outbreak was over. Turns out, most people who got sick had eaten cucumbers from all sorts of places, including cruise ships and hospitals. The kicker? For every case reported, there could be 29 more flying under the radar. The contaminated cukes were traced back to Florida farms, and even the water and soil there tested positive for Salmonella.
