Twenty years of data, and the only thing that changed was how much less I believed in the work fixing anything. I watched the orcas stay longer, counted the days, marked the shifts. The numbers were clear. The world was not. Every year, less ice. Every year, more orcas where they shouldn't be. I wrote it up, cited the implications, tried to sound like a scientist.
