Spinach Tops 2024’s ‘Dirty Dozen’ List

Spinach just snatched the crown from strawberries as the most pesticide-packed produce, according to EWG’s new 2024 “Dirty Dozen” list. Nearly 75% of non-organic spinach had traces of a neurotoxic insecticide banned in the EU. Blackberries and potatoes also made their debut on the list (yikes, potatoes tested positive 90% of the time). If you want to play it safe, EWG’s “Clean Fifteen” list says pineapples, avocados, and sweet corn are your best bets for low pesticide residue.
