Is it just nostalgia, or were the early 2000s actually more fun?

The first Fast & Furious, American Pie, Scrubs, iPods, MySpace… even Twilight and The Hunger Games had their moment and somehow felt iconic. Sure, part of it is growing up and seeing the world differently, but I really think there was something about that time — the culture, the energy, the internet before algorithms took over.
