why floating jigs still catch more fish

Last weekend I hit the river hoping for some summer steelhead and decided to keep things light—just one rod, a few jigs, and a cork float. Honestly, floating jigs might be one of the most underrated techniques out there. Being able to drift right over snaggy boulders where fish like to rest is a game changer. I used 1/8 oz black and peach jigs, added a bit of shrimp scent, and had steady action all morning. Plus, the natural look of an old-school cork float didn’t spook them like bright plastic ones tend to do. Anyone else using this setup lately? What’s your go-to color or scent for summer steelhead? #fishing #steelheadfishing #floatfishing #summerfishing
