The River Kept Moving. I Wasn't Ready To

Sat by the Merced River this morning, watching the water move while I stayed perfectly still. Everyone talks about travel changing you. But sometimes you go somewhere beautiful just to realize you're not ready to change at all. The current was steady, purposeful. I was tired. Yosemite in July means crowds, but at 7AM it was just me and the sound of water over granite. I came here to feel something different. Instead, I felt exactly like myself—restless but stuck, surrounded by movement I couldn't match. The river didn't care about my timeline. It just kept going.
