I found one that was just days old that was abandoned in the back of a truck with a tarp over it. I was 17 at the time and had had to move my car from a timed lot, while I was working. I heard a whimper and looked underneath and saw this tiny little thing. It fit completely in the palm of my hand. Thankfully my grandparents lived a couple blocks away… so I dropped her off there and went back to work. When I got off, I took her to the emergency vet and they told me if a case came in, they would have to let her go. I swiftly corrected them and said… no, she’s my dog. She had absolutely nothing in her. You could hold up her skin and it would stay standing up… she was so dehydrated. Well she made it through the night, so I brought her home and bottle fed her every two hours, while going to high school. She ended up being 70lbs and a Rhodesian Ridgeback/Shepherd mix. Her ridge was backwards… looking like a mohawk! Watching her go through all of the learning stages was a gift!🐾♥️🐾
