how do fans not freak out every time a Funny Car stages?

Went to my first NHRA event last month. Honest question: how do fans not freak out every time a Funny Car stages? Between the blower bangs, the flames, the whole car looking like it might twist itself in half — it’s incredible, but man, it also looks like a rolling grenade. I love racing, but stock cars seem downright tame after watching nitro. Not sure if I’m brave enough to hang by the wall next time. #NHRA #DragRacing #FunnyCar #ScaryGood #FirstTimer
