The Cathedral That Outshines My Photos

Strasbourg Cathedral is the kind of place that makes you put your phone down. I tried to take a picture—everyone does—but the spires just kept slipping out of the frame, too tall, too much. The stone is pink in the morning, almost gold by evening, and no filter gets it right. I stood in the square, surrounded by tourists angling for the perfect shot, and realized I was chasing something impossible.
