The Fairy Tale Town That Felt Fake

Rothenburg ob der Tauber is every travel blogger's dream. Medieval walls, cobblestone streets, half-timbered houses that look hand-painted by Disney. I walked those picture-perfect streets for three hours. Took the same photos as everyone else. Bought overpriced pretzels from vendors who spoke better English than German. Every corner felt staged. Every "authentic" moment had been curated for my camera roll. The fairy tale was real—but so was the performance. Somewhere between the souvenir shops and tour groups, I realized I wasn't experiencing a place. I was consuming content. The town was beautiful. Undeniably so. But beauty without soul feels hollow, even when it's exactly what you came for. #Travel #TravelReality #TouristTrap
