🐾 day 95 — she came closer when i sneezed

I sneezed once—loud and sudden. From across the room, Grace’s head perked up. She had been lying near the window, lazily chewing the corner of her blanket. She paused, looked at me for a second, and then trotted over with purpose. Not in a frantic, “what’s going on?” way. More like... “You okay?” She didn’t jump or lick or whine. She just sat next to me, close enough that her side touched my leg. Then she sighed and leaned in a little more. I didn’t expect it. She used to shrink back whenever I coughed.
