Slow Play Drama at The Open: Enough’s Enough?

All these whiners, BUT........amazingly enough, the speed issues of how LONG it's taking for some to do their "business" is apparently NOT stopping the success of Scottie Scheffler, now is it? These babies need to get on the ball and sharpen their game, because it's NOT slowing down the current Worlds Greatest Player.

penalize slow players, 6 hr round lol, that's ridiculous, 3 -4 should be plenty

SLOW PLAY IS DELIBERATE BY ABOUT 40% of the tour players & they make it our hell for the guys who feel “rhythm of play” is key to their scorecard The two major areas for slooow play, chipping & Number One, PUTTING. They need a CLOCK, ONE MINUTE from the time they pull the club to chip & ONE MINUTE when it’s your turn to PUTT.. SAME RULES FOR EVERYONE. Additionally the tour needs to address short par 4’s & Par 5’s, wheee guys in the green need to let the boys on the tee, TEE OFF, once they’re on the GREEN & BALLS MARKED, just as we do at the Country Club for weekend play. Any BREACH of the CLOCK, ONE STROKE PENALTY, TWO BREACHES DQ’d. Also in the FAIRWAY, same story , once you pull the club, ONE MINUTE TO COMPLETE THE SWING. Baseball has dramatically moved along at a quicker pace with PITCHERS ON THE CLOCK FOR EACH PITCH.

it's a major, you r going to take more time.

think about it this way, we complain about 5 hour rounds and we have 4 somes, no reason a 2 some should take 5.5 to 6 hours. both tours have some issues with the pace of play

Wow thats a long round.. I remember on Father's day at my course. We were packed and taking 4 to 4.5 hours. and people were not happy. Bit the beer cart did well haha

I watched every round and I don't thing it's slow considering it's a link golf course..Takes time when you are playing in a major and 70 players have to play 18 holes daily for 4 days..It takes time fellers.lol..I'm loving the tournament and the views are amazing. Such a beautiful country..I love Rory he is my favorite player and I love watching Scottie play also..What a tournament has been for him..
