the curse of the first cast is realš
This might sound crazy, but I swear the first cast curse is legit. A while back I landed a bass right off my first cast and thought, ātodayās gonna be fire.ā Guess what? That was the only bite all day. Since then, Iāve made it a habit to throw a "sacrificial cast" away from the targetājust to shake off the bad luck. I know thereās no science behind it, but too many trips have played out this way to ignore. yes.. have experienced the same.. the only time it's not a curse is when you also have a hit or catch one on the second cast, too.. but very much don't like catching one on the first cast..

The first cast curse is when you hook your uncle's ear. My Dad bought a 15' wooden boat and we picked up my uncle to go with us. When we launched the boat Dad was at the rear running the motor and I was in the middle and my Uncle was in front. When we got to the fishing spot we all cast out. This was my first cast in a boat and I swung too wide and caught my Uncle's ear. He yelled and Dad said I caught the first sucker of the Day. Dad removed the hook. ššššš

I used to believe it. But I had my most amazing day when I caught a trout on my first cast. Went 7/7 and then couldnāt keep them off my flies. I do a tournament every year and the 4 times I hooked up on my first cast, my teammate and I won it. š¤·āāļø
