3 years in and still buying useless gear 🤦♂️
Anyone else go crazy with gear purchases when they first started? Picked up fishing 3 years ago and literally bought everything thinking "maybe this will work!" now I've learned to stick with proven basics first, then experiment when fish aren't cooperating. Honestly feels like I signed up for a lifetime hobby with the steepest learning curve ever. But I’m here for it. What's your biggest beginner mistake? #fishing #fishinggear #Outdoors

fishing in July. stick to spring fishing and fall fishing, fish in a boat and don't be afraid to talk to other people fishing out there also.

The obsession with fishing, once you are seriously “hooked”, will continue to grow until you lose interest in the sport (unlikely, except in cases of physical disability) or when you die.

some will always work and some will work on only certain waterways so you must fine tune you buying habits to what you know will work all the time and then toss an oddball one occasionally to see if they will react bite I do that with brown trout and bass

When I have my choice my go to is surf fishing with squid. ( not precut squid buy a whole one and cut it as you need so its nice and bloody) 💕Everything loves shrimp, but in the surf a large fish can hit it one time and your re baiting. Fold a piece of squid a couple times on your hook and you are good to go. They aren't going to be able to just steal it so when they hit it they will hit it hard you've got them!
