Brooklyn foster teens get real college support

Foster teens in Brooklyn are getting a real shot at college and beyond, thanks to the Fair Futures program. Imagine having a dedicated coach who sticks with you from middle school all the way through your twenties—helping with everything from college apps to getting a driver’s license and even landing your first debit card. Jamal Johnson, now studying video game design at SUNY Morrisville, says his coach Gisele was the game-changer. With over 1,000 Brooklyn students already benefiting this year, it’s clear these one-on-one mentors are making a difference.
