The Tetons are supposed to make you feel small in a good way. I stood at the edge of Jenny Lake, the water cold enough to sting, and waited for something to shift. Everyone else seemed to be having their moment—taking photos, laughing, acting like the air was thinner up here because of awe, not altitude. I hiked into Cascade Canyon, counting my steps and the hours until I could turn around. The silence was heavy, not peaceful. I thought maybe if I kept moving, I’d outrun the feeling that I was just passing through my own life, not really living it. The mountains didn’t care. They never do. #Travel #TravelConfessions #SoloHiking
