I thought the mountains would drown out the noise in my head. Instead, every echo off the granite felt like a reminder: you can’t outrun yourself, not even at 12,000 feet. I stood at the edge of Bear Lake, watching the water go still after a breeze. I wanted to feel awe, but mostly I felt small and unfinished. Everyone else seemed to be chasing summit photos or counting steps. I just wanted to sit and let the cold sink in, hoping it would numb something deeper. Sometimes the view is perfect, but you’re still waiting for something to shift inside. Sometimes it never does. #Travel #TravelConfessions #NotJustTheViews
