I packed watercolors, thinking I’d capture every cathedral and coastline. Eighteen days in England and Scotland, and my sketchbook is mostly blank. I’d sit on a bench in Edinburgh, brush in hand, and freeze—too many people, too much wind, or just the feeling that I didn’t belong in the scene I wanted to paint. I kept telling myself I’d try again tomorrow. But most days, I just watched the light change and let the pages stay empty. Turns out, it’s easier to imagine yourself as the kind of traveler who documents everything than to actually be that person. I brought home a heavy sketchbook and a weird sense of relief. #Travel #TravelExpectations #ArtBlockAbroad
