A rare freshwater jellyfish just made a splash at Presque Isle State Park, and it’s not something you see every day in Erie! Spotted by a sharp-eyed intern, this little hydrozoan—Craspedacusta sowerbyi—measures just a few millimeters across and doesn’t sting people. Native to China’s Yangtze River, it’s been found in the U.S. before, but sightings in Erie County are almost unheard of. It’s wild to think these tiny creatures could be drifting right under our noses. Has anyone else seen unusual wildlife around local lakes or parks lately? #Science #PresqueIsle #EriePA
