MIL Turns Baby Milestones Into a Circus

Once a month? That is excessive. Give her a list of milestones she can celebrate with a party. At her house. On her dime. All other milestones are yours and your husband's to be celebrated or not.

No one gets in my house uninvited. Put in a ring doorbell camera and keep the doors locked. When she comes up, tell her you’re not available. Tell her that now baby is here, she can’t just come when she feels like it. Call ahead or wait for an invitation. But if you just show up, you’re not getting in.

I agree with the person who said to give the mother-in-law a list of the milestones that will be celebrated, that she's INVITED to. If it works out, and the child's mother and father agree, she can add additional milestones that are celebrated, not necessarily for their child. Such as MIL and FIL birthdays, family holidays, etc. Remind MIL that your daughter is blessed to have her in her life. MIL needs to heed your list and your husband needs to have your back on this. 🙏

tight family ties are important! let her in and be happy you have someone in your life and your child's life that wants to be there! what's a couple hours especially with someone who obviously adores and loves your child! By the way when you get married you don't just marry the man or the woman you marry the entire family!

Make a Special room in your house for her

Don't answer the door. Pretty simple.

People need to learn to speak their minds. Who cares if the person gets mad. They can either get over it or not. Their problem. I would never take it upon myself to barge into my son and his family’s home and do as i please.
