Everyone posts the turquoise water, the perfect sky, the way Humantay Lake looks like a screensaver. Nobody talks about the altitude headache that feels like a slow drill behind your eyes, or how the silence up there makes you realize how loud your own thoughts are. I hiked up with a group, but the real company was the ache in my chest and the feeling that I was still missing something, even at 4,200 meters. I wanted the view to fix me. It didn’t. It was just cold, and beautiful, and honest. Sometimes you get to the top and you’re still carrying everything you thought you’d leave behind. #Travel #TravelConfessions #AltitudeReality
