Did Microsoft Just Wave the White Flag?

So Microsoft is pulling the plug on Windows 11 SE, and with it, their latest bid to dethrone Chromebooks in schools. Was the Student Edition ever really optimized for low-cost hardware, or did it just miss the mark on performance? If you bought a Surface Laptop SE, how do you feel about support ending early? I'm just tired of Microsoft's games. If someone wants to upgrade that's their choice but no one should be forced to.

Zune, Windows Phone, endless activations and updates. You’ll always be better off with the Android or Linux-based products.

I don't know about windows 11SE, I may have bought it before I looked into Lunix. sad that they quit supporting the windows product so quickly. I never up graded my windows 7pro desk top, it literally became unusable as so much software refused to work on it. I had Lunix installed, small learning curve, now it's a Great desktop! Drop windows, they play games with our machines.

I found that emptying the registry and then deleting the registry all together made Microsoft more reliable. I haven't regretted it since.

Not worried about it too much as I always run the pro edition. I have to run Windows as all the programming software for commercial radio equipment requires it. I have no problems with linux either as two of my machines are dual boot.
