it wasn't the MIL's new to place on Internet. she should apologize, but most times they see nothing wrong in what they do. please be careful if you tell her how you feel, she will probably gaslight you.

MIL would not be allowed to be with grandchild for several years for that.

For my daughter’s first baby I was in delivery room and very excited. I had posted a few clips before the birth of the ultrasound etc. so after the baby’s birth a day or two later I posted the news of his arrival on Facebook. She and my son in law don’t really use Facebook much at all. They knew about my other posts though and were fine with them. She got really upset with me and said I was never to post anything about him again without her consent. I apologized. 10 years later I still never post him or his siblings. I feel bad when I see all my friends post pictures of their grandchildren but they are the parents and I have to follow their rules. I do have other grandchildren I can post about whose parents are fine with it.

Why was MIL allowed to see baby and make pictures before mother?

This is something that needs to be discussed : expectant mother needs to have boundaries clear so there are no mistakes.

oh yes, I don't feel it's even right to post pictures taken at a wedding until the bride or groom posts them, but your baby announcement, that's terrible. I think I would take her off the visitors list at the hospital, tell them she's not allowed to visit or see the baby at the nursery window. they can do that.

mil needs told what boundaries are and to abide by them or she won't be allowed anywhere near the baby.
