Not only is the price on produce going up, i have really noticed the quality is going down. in the last two months, I have had to throw away two personal sized watermelons that we're overripe and rotten, a regular sized watermelon that was tasteless, and raspberries that we're already getting moldy. perhaps it is because migrants know a little bit more about when to pick fruit and vegetables. for example, people don't realize when you pick peaches, you don't pick every peach on the tree. you first pick the ones that are ready, then go through maybe a week later, and do the same thing. this can go on 4 or five weeks. or maybe they don't have any labor at all, and if they are coming across the border, they are held up until tariffs can be collected instead of getting fresh to you.
