He never learned to "pitch." even when his fastball was consistently 97 mph+, he'd get rocked, repeatedly. his arm angle ain't nuthin' like deGrom's. deGrom can throw a low fastball that appears to go calf-high but rises near the knee. it appears to defy physics. batters stand dumbfounded and helpless. when Noah tries that, the ball comes in relatively high and goes on an escaltor-like downward straight path toward the thighs, and the ball gets clobbered. I still am confused why he was never coached properly. I'm guessing it comes down to his grip selections. funny, cuz Bartolo Colon was extremely effective in his last years with pitches that never exceeded 92-mph. most were 88 - 90 mph. lol . Bartolo had a lot if similarities with Mariano Rivera. pinpoint control and natural late movement on basic pitches.
