Lakes and rivers aren’t just for summer fun—there’s some seriously creepy stuff lurking under the surface. Thanks to climate change, rare but deadly “flesh-eating” bacteria and “brain-eating” amoebas are popping up more in warm waters across the U.S. The bacteria can get in through cuts, and the amoeba through your nose (yikes). While these infections are super rare, knowing the risks and watching for symptoms after a swim could literally save your life. Stay safe and maybe think twice before that cannonball! #Science #watersafety #publichealth
