MIL Drama Hijacks New Mom’s Big Day

I'm going through the same thing and I look at it like this if they do not want grandparents for their kids that's on them it breaks our hearts but we need to learn to move on and let them raise their kids the way they want to and us live our lives.

Hate to break it to everyone, but most states have a grandparents rites clause stating that grandparents have the right to regular visitation.

The priority when the woman goes into labor is not calling anyone until she is at the hospital and not actively in the process of giving birth. If she is not then once she is settled in at the hospital that would be the time to call family. Her husband should be the one to call his mother IF they wanted her there. There is alot missing from the story. However blaming the woman in labor is wrong, she should talk to her son.

no let's look at this from MIL perspective. how inclusive have the couple been? how hard would it have been to send simple text? the girls parents seem to take center stage with no room for husband's folks.

yes. MIL went a little cray cray. I'm not going to take one side over the other and this cuz there is not enough information at all to figure out what the Dynamics are of this relationship. however if the relationship is a good one with both sets of parents. then I understand the MILis hurt by not being informed and feeling dismissed. especially if the other set of parents were informed. just saying.

Actually, no one but Dad has the right to be with Mom while she’s in labor. Many women want their own Mother there during this uncertain time, especially if it’s her first child. MIL doesn’t hold that same position. I know and understand that. I have 6 sons, no daughters. I didn’t even think to ask to be there for the delivery because I knew it wasn’t my place. I waited at home or in the waiting room until I was asked to come in. That is a very vulnerable situation for the birth Mother. It’s bad enough having all those strange nurses and doctors in there, much less others looking on.

HELL YES 😲 Grandma has lost her DAMN MIND 🤣🤣 she done lost her rights to have anything to do with theGrand Child Forever ♾️.
