Eight months ago, I lost my leg. People say you get used to it, but they don’t talk about the silence in your body, or how stairs become mountains. Today, I hiked up Mam Tor. I wish I could say it was triumphant, but honestly, it was awkward and slow and I hated how much I noticed every sideways glance. But somewhere near the top, with my breath burning and my new leg aching, I realized I wasn’t trying to prove anything. I just wanted to remember what it felt like to move forward, even if it looked nothing like before. That’s enough for now. #Travel #AfterTheFall #RealRecovery
