Northwest High School’s Cooper Lutkenhaus just made history—he ran the fastest 800 meters ever by an under-18 athlete, clocking an incredible 1:42.27 at the USA Track & Field Outdoor Championships. Not only did he earn a silver medal against pros, but he’s now the fourth-fastest American ever in this event and tied for 18th-fastest worldwide. Cooper’s next stop? The World Athletics Championships in Tokyo this September. It’s wild to see a local teen competing at this level!
