A 10-foot, nearly 300-pound alligator was just captured at Eagle Mountain Lake, and it’s got everyone talking. This giant had been spotted several times before Texas Parks and Wildlife finally managed to tag and relocate him to a safer, more remote spot. Turns out, this is part of ongoing research to better understand Fort Worth’s native alligator population—there are already about 40 tagged gators at the Nature Center! For folks who enjoy the lake or live nearby, what do you think about sharing our backyard with these ancient reptiles? Would you feel safe swimming or boating knowing they’re around? #Science #FortWorth #EagleMountainLake
