This Kitchen Staple Sends Rats Packing

We have a lake cottage in northern Wi.Lasy year,we had a mouse issue. I bought a huge bag of cotton balls and a bottle of peppermint essential oil.I put the oil on the cotton balls and placed them everywhere! In drawers,in corners,in cheap little glass bowls from the thrift stores,etc. We still caught a few in traps,but after a week or so,no more mice or droppings! They moved out! They DO NOT LIKE THE SMELL OF PEPPERMINT !.Worked wonderful!

Keep your yard mowed to a reasonable height. That'll keep a lot of unwanted wildlife away. They like hiding places like tall grass and weeds.

After 6 years and 2 wiring harnesses in my car only one thing works, and it's not mint. I mix cheap peanut butter with baking soda and borax into a paste. I roll the mixture into a small ball, sometimes crushing a peanut M&M onto the mixture, and place it in a live trap. Next to the live trap is a bucket of water. If the rodents get the bait without deploying the trap the borax/baking soda mix causes the rodent to die because they can't expell gases. If the trap catches them the crows eat.
