As the father of three daughters, I believe the father in this situation is out of line. A wedding is for the bride, not for him. From my own experience, my mother once opposed someone on our guest list and even threatened not to attend. The wedding went on without her, and I didn’t feel bad about it—it was my wife’s day, not anyone else’s. My wife was willing to accommodate my mother’s concern but I found it childish.

Good for them! Normally the Brides family that pays for the Wedding. Grooms wedding rehearsal dinner. The bride and groom also gives a limit to family about how many guests to bring like +One or 2 friends. Boundary breaking and disrespectful!

That is B.S., good for the Dad! I would imagine he was a major founder and as such had the right to invite anyone he wanted. Sounds to me like the bride and groom are petulant children, AKA, demonroids! Children don’t come either a guarantee!

In some cultures, a wedding is not so much about the bride and groom as it is a way for the families to show off their wealth and status to the community and social circle.
