it's a dump and the city seems like it was planned and laid like a child scribbled it out with a crayon. a stop light on for 8 blocks straight, senseless one ways and 6 way intersections etc.

Corrupt local government and abysmal schools.
Low wages and a high cost of living.
Yes Humboldt County has some remarkable natural beauty but you're very likely to have your car windows broken out should park at the beach or forest.
