I swear people are idiots you can pull military records Wayne did try to enlist and was denied asylum the war department felt his status would be better suited for selling war bonds its part of public record and he was not the only one

I wouldn't go so far as to call him a draft dodger. It's true that when the US Was attacked and entered the war, John Wayne was above the draft age, however he very well could have enlisted. Many men above draft age did, including some well established Hollywood actors. Later, when the draft age was changed, John Wayne, or someone by proxy filed for a family hardship exemption, which was granted. Wayne claimed it was the "studio" that filed for the exemption.... However Wayne could have enlisted. John Wayne himself stated that he regretted not serving for the rest of his life.
