how is owning your own home hoarding? what an absolutely ridiculous article. you buy a home and pass it down after you die. you don't buy a home and then sell it. that's what professional house flippers do, not regular folks. I'm not a boomer, but I don't begrudge them for holding on to their own property that they worked hard for. I'm keeping my home for my kids. if you don't like it, tough. it's mine, and I'll do with it what I choose.

odd, why do i keep getting cards and phone calls to see if I want to sell my house? most us don't want to sell right now. our houses are paid for or nearly , and don't want to have to buy another one.

I respect the boomers, and I am modeling myself with their work ethic, doing with less until I can afford it, and working multiple jobs if that what it takes. That is what my great-grandparents and grandparents did. i am also reaching my goal to own a home by not living at starbucks, and not buying every new iphone and cooking my meals at home, and buying used but nice cars. Because I want to be a homeowner and not rent. if others put me down, then too bad. we all make our own choices. Mine are responsible and promote independence, not dependence. Just like my family did. I like their results. My cousin goes on fancy vacations multiple times a year and affords that by living with her parents, eats out and attends every concert or sports team she can. She is always broke but acts like she is rich. That is stupidity.

Again, just the younger generation is trying to blame the boomers for all their issues because it’s never ever anything. They’ve done wrong.

I don't know how people can afford to rent. 1200 sqft, 3 bedroom, 2 bath rents for $1800.00 p/m in my area. 2 bedroom apartments are $1400.00. My house is 1200sqft, 3 bed, 2 bath and my note plus escrow is $978.00. Feel sorry for anyone trying to afford a place to live.
