What is the rudest thing a family member has said to you?

Dad predicted that I would end up in prison and hell. Haven’t been to prison and since I am a born again Christian I’m not going to hell.

That I don't deserve to be alive and then I'll never Amount to anything in life

When I was 17 I was called a loser and was told I would never amount to anything. At the time I had been a Jr. Firefighter and advanced first aid first responder, taught swim lessons at the YMCA every Saturday and taught CPR and First Aid classes for the Red Cross most evenings. I got above average grades in school and was too bust to get into trouble. At 20 I was doing the Paramedic thing full time and FF part time. By 40 after working and going to school both full time, I retired and hung my Dr in front of my name. I was called that wealthy person the lived in ——. At that point I was sure it was them and not me, I was out.

my husband and I were visiting his mother. I had lost a lot of weight , went from 185 to 104 pounds. She said to me, "You know you look like a skinny witch" I didn't reply as I was raised to be polite and my husband just sat there and didn't even stand up for me , but that wasn't the first time. A husband who let's others ( and that includes relatives) dis on their wife is nothing but a POS

I was told I was worthless and wouldn't amount to anything so at 16 I left buy time i was 25 I bought a house and was making good money for the 80s I retired at 55 hmmm my parents are in their 80s and still have to work who is worthless

My granddaughter called me the “C” word! Doesn’t get any worse than that. It’s ok, I don’t have to worry about her anymore!

My mother said, you're not like us, we don't know where you came from. I'm one of six children. I told her I worked really hard NOT to be like them.

after I gave my life to Christ,my parents said I was wasting away my life... I am a SAHM, raising my children to be wonderful productive citizens of society I have a 9yr old 5th grader and a 5yr old 1st grader that I homeschool. wherever we go people boast about how beautiful my children are and how well behaved they are. I couldn't afford to go to culinary which was my dream, and my dad would not help me to pay for it because his dream was for me to go to the school he wanted me to go to... I was accepted to Cornell University for mechanical engineering, but that was not what I wanted. My parents passed and they never got to meet my children, and I am glad I kept them from negative people. I was called all manner of things, its taken years to heal from it all, and I am so glad I now have the privilege to raise my children differently.

My mom told me, she wished I was dead and never born. Yea, I had an awful mother.

While meeting a friend of my husband shortly after we got married, my now ex-husband boasted to the friend that he was glad he didn’t have to put up with having in-laws because both of my parents were already dead. Boy! That stung.
